He was known for his distinctivesmooth baritone voice and charismatic stage presence. Frankie Beverly was born Howard Stanley Beverly but changed his name in honor of his idol Frankie Lymon. He formed Maze originally called Raw Soul in his hometown of Philadelphia in 1970. Frankie Beverly's signature style was his all white linen outfits with his signature baseball cap.
