The Craft is a learning opportunity. The grail we all aspire toward, some level of transformation to a better person is unclear, as is the way one achieves it. As you will find, this is not a short-cut. It is a thought map designed to shape behaviour. I"m inclined to think it places us in an atmosphere of arguments about truth. There is room at this table for one more. A new language, emphasis on control of emotion, it is more like finishing school that combat training. MasonicFX is simply and extension of that. An acquired taste where conversation is about possibilities. Sit in as you like. We stumble along, still trying to find the edge of this interesting universe!

Is it possible we know more about ourselves than we reveal to others? We come into masonry riding a desire to improve. We find the company appealing and receptive. Knowing we have been carefully screened changes our status. Ritual endorsement is effortless. Living up to it, with only your own accountability removes any burden. Secrets remain secret. We tell ourselves it's only us meeting expectations. What's a man to do? It's an essential question. Are we talking about the poor boy who is smarter than his environment? Is he the physicial who saved by child? Is it the man coming to terms with his yearnings? He is 'too sensitive'. Best he sits down and keeps quiet? Is it the man from a family of success? Who has no desire to carry on the family lineage? The uneducated, wealthy farmer who fathered Issac Newton? Charles Darwin did not want to be a doctor like his successful well stationed parents. Disappointments. Maybe Lord Byron, abandoned by his father, resentment toward his mother. Was disappointment the stimulant that triggered genius? If we compare, we are on that continuum of brilliance. No amount of rationalization changes it. So pardon me for sensing that there are pockets, caveats within freemasonry where the tendency is fear of a great unknown- fear of inner capacity. Will I be liked by friends? Will I be accepted by family? I am the priest sworn to an ethical presence, yet I violated oaths and became a Freemason. There is my secret. No one controls the narrative of life. We experience life as it occurs. No on predicts tomorrow. No one predicts death and dying. it is what it is. More the reason to explore your fabric. Let's assume there is a surprise lingering in each of us. If you're prone to misanthropy it's unlikely you're a regular participant. Best we keep it that way. For the rest of us, have you noticed life is bittersweet. Wish you had known earlier?

Not to qibble but for centuries the argument has been out there for all to consider. Is occult study the result of religion failing? Add the tincture of time to an occult topic and it becomes safe, even commonplace. What just happened? Are we... more

We came from an age of the classics. Through music, science, architecture, philosophy we trace events and experiences of plebiens and kings. Those classics no longer priveleged, are public but children are given little if any guidance... more

I'm wondering how the Craft organization is preceived. Long ago, we became organized into Grand Lodges that protect and preserve. If we ask 'what is freemasonry, we would learn some saying it is Grand Lodge; others ritual; others... more

Nothing tempers a man more than experience. I'm wondering why there is so much concern to 'rehabiliate' men who simply lack ability. That discussion isn't new and where has it taken us? Nowhere! The lamentation plagues the... more

What we see today makes us unhappy and is the subtext of masonry. We believe what we want to believe; see what we want to see. The unvarnished truth is assumed to be painfully unnecessary. Generations before us write about hubris,... more

Profane might rarely experience what a mason experiences whether together or after making his way home. Being true to his obligations, he exists in a constant state of vigilence. How can that be you say? How can anyone be aware every... more

Declaring that masonry offers a non-secular option to faith has wrapped the Craft in a lingering, misguided myth. Think about it. If Freemasonry is the epitome of Renaisance thinking, would it not have a bearing on the masonic mind? Saying... more

Notes and rhythms can take us to places in our minds where we can find peace within. Freemasonry tantalizes. It is so generous it allows a man to adopt a pedigree made of noble ideas and magnificent gestures. Speculation becomes... more

Humans have an interesting ability. We can fill in gaps on our own to make sense of what we experience. When Aristotle was pondering the universe he described a relationship based on what he knew. We called it geo-centric. It lasted until the... more

The Creator is without form, beyond mind. I cannot describe what I cannot fully understanding. The Creator must be without gender, without malice, forgiving judgment; hope when there is despair; a source of strength to overcome. To aid... more
