”…He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp will go out in time of darkness.” - Proverbs 20:20 (NAS)
“Throughout our infancy and childhood, fathers and mothers model a picture of God for us. By how they act and what they do, we “see” what God is like. We interpret each succeeding experience through the lens of judgments we have made and the expectations we have developed in response to what has been done in the past…” In this lesson, we look at our past in relation to our ability or inability to relate to our parents. We look at how their performance, coupled with our personal judgments, convictions or inner vows may taint the way in which we see God. Overall, these constructs can positively or negatively impact upon our ability to clearly enjoy the goodness of God.
