This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forebearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay!

3. Jayson Johnson, writer/ director, Redress

Jayson earned an MA in film production from Eastern Illinois University and then took a marketing position working for legendary film director Francis Ford Coppola. Jayson worked on several successful wine and food ventures and then transitioned over to Coppola’s film studio, American Zoetrope. Jayson worked under film pioneers Walter Murch, Richard Beggs and Mr. Coppola himself. Jayson took Coppola’s advice to ‘go out and become famous’ and now works as a producer. Jayson works full time as a freelance producer for Strike Five Films.
