Chuck Kriese interviews Kathleen Horvath. Horvath is widely regarded as one of the best, if not the best junior girl players in the history of tennis. In 1983, at the age of 15, she defeated Martina Naratilova at the French Open, which was the only defeat for the 74-1 record that year. Horvath won 9 US National championships and played in the pro ranks for 10 years. She is now the mother of 3 and a tennis-mom as well. Horvath gives her views on junior tennis in the US and also some of the do’s and don’ts of raising and parenting an aspiring tennis player. Her insight as to leading without pushing are quite insightful and also her breadth of understanding of how to help the child develop his/her own dream and desire.
