Jason Ferguson, MPH is a health security expert with over 15 years of experience that spans readiness efforts for pandemics, bioterrorism events, and other catastrophic disasters. He has worked with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and businesses to strengthen capabilities to respond and recover from a myriad of public health disasters.
In 2009, Mr. Ferguson supported academia with the H1N1 influenza outbreak, an effort that protected the health of thousands of students, faculty, and staff. He has also worked with health agencies in major metropolitan areas to prepare for an anthrax attack, having specific experience with the United States Postal Service (USPS) Biohazard Detection System (BDS).
Additionally, Mr. Ferguson was selected to serve on a National Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) to deploy to the Philippines to provide critical medical aid in areas most severely impacted by Typhoon Haiyan.
He has designed and conducted a plethora of public health trainings and exercises to help the government prepare for communicable disease outbreaks.
He holds a Master of Public Health from Benedictine University and dozens of other threat and hazard specific certifications.
