Good morning, today on The Meter we will cover the Biden-McCarthy deal. The debt ceiling agreement was finally passed to avoid a government shutdown by increasing the amount the government can borrow. The deal was finally approved by enough Republicans on the condition that federal spending would be cut. The compromise will prevent a default and downgrade of American Bond Security worldwide. The deal is good until 2024. How will the soaraing national debt affect American markets and everyday life? Also, the Republican presidential field is expanding as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is officially in the race and former NJ governor Chris Christie is expected to announce his candidacy thus week. The crowded field is reminiscent of 2016 when 17 Republicans were vowing for the nomination. President Trump is still leading the pack by a wide margin. All of the primary vote getters are promising border security, crime reduction, parent control of schools, and international resurgence. Can any of the challengers catch Donald Trump and of so, how? Also, we are now in pride month as a celebration of lgbt, trans kids, and drag shows are on the forefront in American life. The Republican Party seems united in stopping the movement from entering schools and effecting the youth. The Democrats are calling it free speech and that is something one is born with. As the 2024 elections approach, how much will these issues be affected by the outcome? Please join the discussion at 10AM. The call-in number is 347-308-8933. Your input is essential.
