This week’s guest editorial is authored by our colleague- Leon Francis with a challenge to our panelist to discuss and debate the following items:
IRELAND IN THE WEST INDIES: Ireland won this one by 5 wickets. This loss is disheartening. It appears that Chase, Holder and Hope have not contributed to this series. In fact, Chase appears to lack confidence and fitness. It is high time that Jayden Seales, Jason Mohamed, and Kyle Mayers be given the opportunity to replace the failed 3 named above. I am an avid fan and supporter of West Indies cricket, and I implore the new team of selectors to make the hard choice. We deserve nothing less.
INDIA IN SOUTH AFRICA: This test series is tied 1-1, but, by all appearance South Africa will likely take the 3-match series as they need 111 runs with 8 wickets and two days to bat. In this test viewers on TV and spectators in the stadium saw a very sparkling test century by India’s R. Pant, who displayed and employed skills and tactic seen in white ball and test match cricket. South African cricket have much to celebrate with the advent of Marco Jansen, and undoubtedly South Africa has found a diamond in the rough; with Keegan Petersen. This young man exudes class. Wiiith experience, he would be a top rated player in the world.. There is no doubt that Kholi and the Indian team will fight to the final ball. This has been a most enjoyable test match.
PAKISTAN CEO PROPOSES 4 NATION T20 CRICKET SERIES: Ramiz Raja has proposed a 4 nation T20 annual series involving India, Pakistan, Australia, and England. Profits from these series would be shared on a percentage basis with all ICC member teams, he suggested.
Is this a new growth development for ICC cricket members?
