Are we REALLY as "Civilized" as we claim we are?

Middle Eastern Terror Groups, most would say, at least in public anyway, are not as civilized as the quintessential "Suburban-ite American's" are.  Yet, we have thousands, if not 10's or even hundreds of thousands of children being kidnapped within our own country, by our own government.  Removed from the family, locked in a room alone with no medical care, while the parents are blamed for medical neglect, as the "Patient" . . . Or should I say, "Test Subject" spends their day rapidly declining in health, both body and mind . . . alone . . . to suffer.  

Then we have The VA . . . Millions of Veterans are in their care and are, again, left to spend their day, rapidly declining in health, both body and mind . . . alone . . . to suffer.  I htought we didn't "Tolerate" "Torture" in this country? . . . Wasn't that a "Battle Cry" for the left a few years ago?  "Purdy" sure it was.

Our own govt. facilitated in the weaponizing of Mexican drug cartels, who in reality, are holding one of our combat Veterans after taking a wrong turn?  Who now, finds himself, left to spend his day rapidly declining in health, both body and mind . . . alone . . . to suffer.  Again, this whole "Torture" thing keeps coming back in my mind.  

I bet if the presidents daughter were to take a wrong turn and get caught in Mexico, she would have been out before the president could scream across the ruff . . . "Four!"  So, I guess the moral of all this is . . . You have to fall into the right "Group" before you matter.  And here I thought civilized people cared about ALL people . . . Hmm.
