On today’s show, the panel will discuss the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez-Amir Khan middleweight title fight. Canelo will be defending his lineal WBC title against the welterweight moving up two weight classes. With both fighters weighing in at 155lb weight limit, it will be interesting to see how well Khan carries the weight and whether or not Canelo is prepared to fight a fighter that is his weight equivalent, if not his size.

With fighters like David Lemieux and Frankie Gomez missing weight recently in their past outings, it was a treat to see all the fighters make weight including the aforementioned.

The undercard will be a real treat as Mauricio Herrera battles Gomez at welterweight. However, it will be the middleweight division that is showcased as Patrick Teixeira steps up to a significant level in his career, both in platform and competition, as he takes on Curtis Stevens.

However, the co-feature could offer a glimpse into the opponent choice for Canelo’s September fight when Lemieux takes on Glen Tapia. The winner of this fight will likely take on Canelo if Gennady Golovkin isn’t chosen next.
