On today’s episode of Thaboxingvoice Radio Show, the panel discusses the big showdown between two of the best little guys in the sport as Carl Frampton puts his IBF junior featherweight title on the line in a unification bout against Scott Quigg and his WBA junior featherweight title. While there is a considerable difference between star recognition in the UK and the US, this fight breaks through the barrier because of its significance in the sport. As it stands, Frampton-Quigg is a top 10 fight in the sport of boxing, regardless of weight class.

While it has been a relatively slow month for boxing, the action picks up this weekend and we will breakdown the remaining matchups of significance. Terence Crawford and Hank Lundy are fighting on HBO with rising Puerto Rican star Felix Verdejo in the co-feature.

ShowTime will show Frampton-Quigg in the afternoon, but later that evening we will see Leo Santa Cruz and Kiko Martinez square off and our panel will breakdown this noteworthy matchup as well.

Today’s guests will be junior middleweight, Julian Williams, as he discusses his upcoming IBF title eliminator against Marcello Matano and featherweight Abner Mares, who will give us an update on his next outing now that the proposed date for his matchup with Fernando Montiel has been scrapped.

And, of course, we will be taking live calls on air from you the voice of the people. From Alumni to first-time callers, we encourage everyone to call 646-478-3068 to voice your opinion. And remember you can express your opinion in writing by becoming part of the team and writing for the site- contact Mario Mungia or Nestor Gibbs at Theboxingvoice@yahoo.com. Potential for substantial growth within the field of boxing journalism.
