On today’s edition of Thaboxingvoice Radio Show, the panel discusses the recently announced HBO headliner between Andre Ward and Sullivan Barrera taking place March 26th at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. After a month or so of speculation, the fight was formally announced this week with yesterday’s media call to officially kickoff the promotion, although reports of the fight being finalized surfaced last week.

Despite having competed at a catch-weight above 168lbs in his return fight against Paul Smith last June, this will be Ward’s first official fight at light heavyweight since announcing his certain decision to move up from super middleweight – a weight class he dominated and reigned over for years. The undefeated Barrera will to take advantage of the size factor that comes with years of experience campaigning at the light heavyweight division.

Joining us today will be bantamweight Alexis Santiago as he prepares for his Fox Sports 1 headliner against Erik Ruiz in Las Vegas on a Mayweather Promotions card. Jamel Herring will also appear as a guest on today’s show, fresh off his own Fox Sports 1 headliner this past Tuesday in which he defeated Luis Eduardo Flores by unanimous decision through 10 rounds.

And, of course, we will be taking live calls on air from you the voice of the people. From Alumni to first-time callers, we encourage everyone to call 646-478-3068 to voice your opinion. And remember you can express your opinion in writing by becoming part of the team and writing for the site- contact Mario Mungia or Nestor Gibbs at Theboxingvoice@yahoo.com. Potential for substantial growth within the field of boxing journalism.
