You think you have access to the California courts as pro-se litigant. You are correct, but there are limits. Did you want to sue BOA/CHASE/WELLS? You should probably hire a lawyer or you might be declared a “Vexatious Litigant!” Our guest, Robert Townsend, Certified Legal Investigator, and former NALI Director, walks us through some of the issues facing litigants who seek access to the courts.

Topics covered on this show – just a taste: 1) The publics’ right to access to the courts, in California, and nationwide; 2) Access to information and right to redress and the catalyst housing bubble; 3) California’s method for controlling the dockets and its pro-se litigant population; 4) Action items and steps you can take to learn more about the problem and solutions.

Robert Townsend, Certified Legal Investigator, and former two-term National Director of the National Association of Legal Investigators (NALI) is a seasoned veteran of more than 50 years of field investigation, adjusting, and work in catastrophic personal injury, civil litigation and 11th hour trial support. The former U.S. Marine served with the N.I.S. and was assigned to criminal investigation in the orient. Today, Townsend advocates for the rights of pro-se litigants in California courts. Not everyone likes Townsend’s message, but there is an appreciable issue among pro-se litigants in California and nationwide.
