Child stars like Michael Jackson, Gary Coleman and other young celebrities who went through tragic events say that they never had a childhood because they started working in their careers early in their lives. Regular people who had to start working early in their lives, or had to take on responsibilities early in life claim to never have had a childhood also. Are they correct in saying this? Is going to work the number 1 requirement for taking away someone's childhood, or are there other things that can also rob a person of having a childhood? What makes a childhood a childhood, to you? Some parents keep their children so close to them and shelter them so tight that they can find it hard to deal with the harsh realities of life, or possibly just the day-to-day challenges of being an adult. Things like being considerate of others, sacrificing for just reasons, paying bills and taking responsibility may be missing from someone who hasn't been allowed to grow up.
