Heart can mean courage, or it can mean kindness. It's crazy how one word that is actually a vital organ can take on the role of so many vitally important things in our social structure. When someone say that someone has a heart, they mean that some is kind, or has compassion. It is almost like loyalty, dedication and tactfully letting someone down, or trying not to further disappoint them. When someone says that someone has heart, they mean that they will courageously defend themselves, or others. It means that they are not a weeping violet. It means that they will not be a punk. See how just the letter A changes so much in the meaning of the same word? When you take away the word heart in both scenarios, you get an equally less desirable person. In other words, when you say that someone has no heart, or is heartless.....
