Have you ever paid someone a compliment, but it wasn't the compliment that they wanted to hear? Like, maybe you complimented them on their looks, when they wanted to be complimented on a particular job they had done, or a skill that they had? Maybe you complimented someone on their intelligence and they were looking to be complimented on their looks. This goes much deeper than compliments though. This is about paying attention to what someone needs in order to be alright. You don't always have to lie to someone about themselves, but you may need to hit the mark on exactly what they are looking for in order to feel affirmed. It's not always easy to do this, in fact, sometimes it may seem impossible to do, without sacrificing yourself to a certain extent. We do it for our children though, so we can probably do it for other people, if we care enough to do it. Let's talk.
That's what we're talking about tonight at 7PM ET on The Daily Gogetemism Show. Check this out:: https://youtube.com/live/BPd-kaeYPyo?feature=share
