Many people at work complain about managers and supervisors using the ideas that employees come up with and presenting them as their own ideas. It's a major complaint and can make a leader lose the confidence that his/her team has in them. The bigger question may be what can be done about it? Can you go to HR and report that your manager stole your ideas? Would it be worth it to do so?
Having something stolen from you is a serious thing because it brings up the trust factor that may, or may not exist between parties. You probably wouldn't invite someone to your house if you thought that you had to watch them like a hawk to make sure that they didn't steal anything. Sometimes it's unavoidable, as in the cases where our family members, spouses, or lovers are they are thieves. Do you get really upset when someone steals something from you? Does it matter what it is? Does it matter who does the stealing? Which is worse, money, or ideas?
