Miserable people don't always show out. Sometimes they just want to be left alone. Sometimes people just need to work through whatever they are going through. Sometimes miserable people work all the time. They sometimes feel the need to be financially well off. Maybe it's because they are lonely and the money and "stuff" attracts people to them, the way that their personality cannot. Sometimes people are in misery because of things from their past that they have not reconciled and they have turned so many people off that they have no one to turn to.
