Kids Don't Play Cops & Robbers Anymore. Do They Play House?

Have the games that children play reflect the changes in what is acceptable in society? Are we different as children now

Back in the day, it would never be surprising to see little boys running around with toy guns playing cowboys and Indians and acting the way they saw in the movies. It wouldn't turn anyone's head to see boys with toy guns playing cops and robbers. The cops were the good guys and the robbers were the bad guys. Are the cops still the good guys? Are the robbers automatically the bad guys? Are toy guns sold anymore? Has this changed the way our children play and learn? Is that good? 

Are toy guns looked at as a symbol of violence and have we used thatto explain how violent things seem today? Are we any more violent with guns today than when decades before?

What about playing house? Little girls use to play house with their friends and siblings. They would play cook and clean and mommy and daddy. Does the family look like that anymore? If children played house now, woukd it automatically include a daddy like it did back in the day? Would house have to include a parent of the same sex maybe? Would it just be a single mother raising her children? Has the house shifted in a different direction?

This one is going to make you think a little harder, guaranteed.
