Healthy Teeth Builds Healthy Living w/Dentist Roschelle Banks & Sleep Disorders

Join WORDS MAKE PEOPLE this Sunday Feb. 8th, 1:00-3:00 p.m. for an interesting discussion for improving our lives. Our topic: "Healthy Teeth Builds Healthy Living with Dr. Roschelle Banks". She also will speak extensively about the dangers of sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.

Dr. Major-Banks began practicing dentistry in 1989 and has always believed in the importance of the entire health of her patients and is an advocate for total body wellness and proper nutrition. Dr. Major-Banks is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Indianapolis District Dental Society and the Indiana Dental Association.  

Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him, spoke on the importance of taking care of our teeth and our health. Here are two reports of Prophet Muhammed regarding care of our teeth:

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: were it not that I might over-burden my people I would have ordered them to use siwak (tooth-stick) at every time of the prayer, and in another transmit, in every ablution. Narrated by the two Imams of hadith.

On the authority of Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah said: "Keep on doing tooth brushing because it cleans the mouth and pleasures Allah" narrated by al-Byhaki and al-Bukhari.
