Natalie Talks Live with Marie Antoinette Kelly Artist and Author

Our guest today is Marie Antoinette Kelly, an award-winning artist who has done hundreds of commissioned portraits, as well as the art for the Angel Quest Oracle.  Her art career got off to an unusual start. She always thought sh wanted to be a doctor. She was enrolled in pre-med and in her final year won the national Goldwater Scholarship for science. This scholarship was about to map out the next six years of her life and set her on a career in medicine.  Right about then, Marie realized that's not where she wanted to go with her life. She changed course and devoted herself full-time to her family and two little girls until she knew her next step.Fast-forward a few years, a friend was moving away and passed along a video course called "Yes, You Can Draw!"  It was like a light turned on. Marie didn’t even watch the video.  Instead picking up a pencil she started to draw.  Once she drew a few portraits, she knew she’d found what she was looking for—a passion inside of her she could share with the world. Marie has done hundreds of portraits since then and still finds that she loves creating them as much as ever. No two faces are the same--each with its own uniquelight, mostly radiating from the eyes. She works to capture that in her portraits. That's how she shows the beauty of each soul.  Marie also noticed that her heart often wakes up to the person she’s drawing and feels them influencing how she creates the portrait. She’s had some amazing experiences while creating portraits--experiences that were then confirmed when she relayed them back to the subject, or their loved ones.
