When is being right wrong?~

My wife posted a wonderful 'Peanuts' four panel cartoon on FaceBook last night that defines exactly what it is we do here at Spirit of Truth Ministry. It shows Snoopy sitting on his dog house typing on his typewriter, while Charlie Brown looks up at him. Charlie Brown says, "I hear you are writing a book on theology". "I hope you have a good title." Snoopy is thinking-I have the perfect title; "Has It Ever Occurred to You That You Might Be Wrong?"

Being wrong, especially about salvation and eternal life is, for most people-especially 'born again' Christians, a nearly impossible concept. Why? Because the idea that what you know about salvation as being by Grace through Faith cannot be wrong. Jesus is not cruel; He knows that we are all sinners, and NO ONE can possibly live a sinless life here on earth. They believe that Jesus gave an impossible assignment to His church in ancient times demanding that they 'keep the 10 Commandments in order to become righteous and sinless'. So since He realized that this was impossible for His created beings then He would have to come up with an alternate reality where they could rely on Him keeping the Commandments FOR them, so they could appear to be righteous before the Father. Yep, that is what happened, right?

But believing you are right you are wrong, and the inertia of this is nearly impossible to break. Reorienting yourself to a truth that does not rely on Jesus doing salvation for you so you don't have too takes courage, strength of will, and understanding a believing NOT what you have been told as to what Jesus said, but learning and knowing for yourself (by your own study) exactly what Jesus said about how salvation works. Wrong can never be right, no matter how much you wish it to be. And wishing for salvation will never bring it to be in your life.
