THE SEARCHER'S ROAD MAP

ON SHAMANISM AND THE PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT             I’m crazy enough to think “enlightenment” is available to us now. Anyway to those of us who long for it. It’s not reserved solely as a reward for a life of privation, meditation, constant recitations of mantras, prostrations, offerings, faithful adherence to a guru or lifetimes of past lessons.

Many have known peak experiences of incredible spiritual power, glimpses of ecstasy and ultimate union with “All That Is” that can never be forgotten. Or perhaps like me, started their spiritual journey after receiving only a fleeting glimpse of a state of consciousness so undeniably true, so intensely reassuring, so unforgettable that it still calls them to find their way closer.Shamanism has been my spiritual path. Throughout my shamanic training I’ve been on the alert for journey experiences that brought me toward a sense of unity with All That Is. In addition, I’ve tried out techniques from Buddhism and other traditions that I learned about through reading and other spiritual work.  Many of these “skillful means” in the form of shamanic journeys and exercises are part of a weekend workshop being offered in Boulder, Colorado March 15-16 and in Lawrence, Kansas April 12-13 called “Shamanism and the Path to Enlightenment.”
