Join me for the month of March as we discuss women's empowerment in various aspects of life as we celebrate Women's History Month The purity movement in the evangelical church is in and of itself a worthy cause. Children of knowledgeable years are encouraged to stay pure or abstain from any premarital sex. They wear promise rings, make sure their clothes are modest, and ensure that time with members of the opposite are limited to group activities where there is not hint of a chance of sexual impropriety. Unfortunately, the purity movement hasn't really done much to make our children pure. In fact, the burden of purity is such to where most of those promise keepers tend to break their promise. They're left feeling guilty, unworthy of God's love and forgiveness and are given a set f rules to follow that simply adds to the problem. On this edition of the Parker J Cole show, we'll be discussing how women can be empowered by purity regardless of their sexual state and how the Church can advocate purity without subjecting our children to a rule book no one can follow. To unfold this topic with me is April Kelsey, blogger of Revolutionary Faith. You can call in at 646-668-8485, press 1 to be live on air. Or, download the Stitcher app on your mobile device.
