Listen to the Thurs. July 4, 2019 special edition of the Pan-African Journal: Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program will feature our regular PANW report with dispatches on the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa who will address the 4th Industrial Revolution Summit on the recent advances in technology; Rwanda has commemorated the 25th anniversary of the end of the genocide of 1994; Namibia is measuring the cost of fuel for the next month in this Southern African state;  and Angola is looking forward to the positive developments surrounding the advent of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as it relates to its coffee industry. In the second and third hours we look at the origins of the modern crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through its first Pan-Africanist leader Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba whose 94th birthday is commemorated this month. Also we examine the aftermath of the coup and assassination of Lumumba and the role of the United Nations.
