Robert Porter, DB, Jackson State 2016 NFL Draft Prospect

JSU: Robert returns to Jackson State University as one of the best defensive backs in FCS football... He is one of the better cover men in the Southwestern Athletic Conference... After fully recovering from a shoulder injury (that he played with last season), he will be a more physical defensive back. 2014/Junior Year: Inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma (Student-Athlete Honor Society). Received the JSU Unsung Hero Award. Earned letterman honor and emerged as one of the top defensive backs in the SWAC. Named SWAC Player of the Week (Sept. 3). Recorded JSU's only interception that was returned for a touchdown - 41 yards against Virginia-Lynchburg. 41 yard interception return was the longest of the season for the Tigers. Played in 11 games and finished as the fifth leading tackler for JSU. Recorded 61 tackles (40 solo) to go along with an interception and a team high eight pass breakups. Before JSU: Northland Community and Technical College: Was a standout cornerback for the Pioneers. Showed excellent ball hawking skills, has the ability to return an interception back to the house. Plays with physicality.
