In 2013, Nate Askew made the switch from receiver to linebacker for his final season at Texas A&M. During his freshman through junior seasons, Asker was used sparingly catching nine passes over that period. His senior season at linebacker Askew played in all 12 games at linebacker, starting at Arkansas and against Missouri. 33 stops on the year, with 22 solo tackles. He also ranked second on the team with two interceptions. He return an interception 30 yards for a touchdown and joined a small group of players who have scored both offensive and defensive touchdowns in their careers with the Aggies. Had a career-high seven stops against Missouri, with four solo tackles and an assisted sack. The biggest boost to his NFL Draft stock was running a 4.45 at his Pro Day which beats any time recorded at the position from the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine.
