Anthony Capasso was the leading receiver for Ashland in 2012 catching a team-high 64 passes for 924 yards (14.4 ypc.) and nine touchdowns in 2012. The former starting defensive back has spent the last two season's playing receiver. Ashland won the 2012 GLIAC championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs, with the help of team captain Capasso. The Eagles were 11-1, 10-0 in the GLIAC. The Eagles ended the regular season ranked fourth in the country. During his time at Kent State, Capasso was the roommate of New England Patroits Julian Edelman.
