Ryan Spadola has become of the best receivers in FCS football and one of the best in Lehigh history. Blessed with the combination of size and speed, Spadola was key component to Mountain Hawks finishing with their best season in a decade, going 11-2 and 5-0 in the Patriot League. The 5-0 mark is Lehigh’s tenth football championship and leads the conference. Team captain, the Howell, N.J. native is poised to become the Mountain Hawks all-time leader in both catches and receiving yards. After two weeks Spadola was 709 yards away from tying the all-time mark in receiving yards (3,662) and 51 catches away from tying the record for most catches all-time (237) in Lehigh history. Set to earn his third consecutive first-team All-Patriot League honor the 2012 Preseason Walter Payton Award Watch List candidate is one to pay close attention too during the 2012 season. The Patriot League has produced several NFL players of late with the most noticeable , quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals.
