Kashif Montgomery (draft eligible), arguably could have been the best high school football player in Rhode Island history. During his senior season, Montgomery (6’2 ½” and 197) averaged over 30 yards per reception as a wide receiver and over 10 yards per carry as a runner. He also dominated as a safety and returned several kicks and punt returns for touchdowns. Montgomery easily led the state in scoring having scored nearly twice as many points as the person in second place. Montgomery was recruited by just about every school, but his grades didn’t match his athletic prowess. He did end up playing one year of college football at Dean in 2006 and another year at Virginia at Lynchburg this past fall. In between, Montgomery dropped out of school to take care of his kids. Montgomery is now draft eligible and the soon-to-be 25 year-old receiver wowed the scouts at the Brown University Pro Day on March 20th  with his blazing speed, great hands, and athleticism. He ran 4.4 or better in the 40, had a vertical of 36 inches, broad jumped 10 feet, ran the pro shuttle in 4.0, and benched 225 pounds 19 times.
