Ricky Brewer, LB Colorado State Rams
Brewer was named All-American in 2008 as a sophomore playing at Colorado State and his future was right on track but a failed drug test in 2009 resulted in the talented linebacker to be suspended for the year. It wasn’t what he did prior his suspension it was how he handle the issue afterwards that showed the resilience of character of this talented young man. He hit the subject straight on like he does opposing offensive players and in 2010.
Brewer on of the five permanent captains, played in all 12 games earning first team all-conference honors from Phil Steele and honorable-mention from MWC (Mountain West Conference) coaches and media. He also led the team with 105 tackles (43 solo).
