Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week, we devote the whole show to a little old theme we call That One Guy!, which honors those actors from your favorite movies & TV shows growing up, whose name you can’t quite think of but you know who we mean… you know…THAT ONE GUY!
Maybe you don’t know Rob Paulsen, but you know Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs, “Raphael” & “Donatello on the original TMNT, G.I Joe, Transformers, and most of the other animated projects that Paulsen has been part of as a voice actor for nearly three decades. With over 2,000 (yes, that’s right) half-hour programs and dozens of films, video games, and other animated media to his credit, Rob Paulsen has been one of the hardest working, most in-demand, and most beloved voice artists in the industry, earning (so far) a Daytime Emmy and Peabody, 3x winning the Annie Award (for voice actors) and author of his memoir Voice Lessons. Hulu has just started airing all new episodes of Spielberg’s Animaniacs. The show which was introduced to millennials 30 years ago returns with original cast including Rob voicing "Yakko".
All of this is to say that maybe you’ve never heard of Rob Paulsen. But you’ve heard him. A lot! And we’ve going to prove it to you... Join hosts Grim Shea, Marke, Johnny Heck and Jimmy The Gent as they get back to the roots of Saturday Morning TV and get to know the man behind some of the biggest voices in cartoon history who brings so much joy and passion to what he does.
