Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week, we eat, drink and talk holiday movies and movies we watch at Christmas… See what I did there?
Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? Of course it is you dumb bastard but we go beyond that old debate and get into the evolution of the Christmas movie with an introduction to Fatman, the unapologetically Christmas movie with maybe the best trailer ever made and a hero that kicks ass, takes names and knows if you’ve been bad. So, be good or he’ll shoot you!
As Christmas traditions go, many of us share in the very sacred practice of seeing a new movie for Christmas. Well, for at least one of our show hosts, 30 years ago, on December 25, 1990 that movie was The Godfather Part 3. Disappointment followed but with the help of our very good friends at Paramount we have a second chance with The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone the epic gangster saga with a freshly, albeit slightly, edited version of its final installment. To help pull us back in, we have exclusive”ish” audio w/the director, Francis Ford Coppola and stars Al Pacino, Andy Garcia.
Join our merry band of hosts; Grim Shea, Marke, Jimmy The Gent, Johnny Heck and guest host Mickey Finn as they get serious about nothing at all. The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone is out NOW on streaming and physical media. Listen in episode to win a copy! Fatman is available NOW on streaming with physical media drop 1/9/21.
