A graduate of San Francisco State University’s Asian American Studies Department, Matthew Abaya is a writer, director and visual effects artist whose work has been seen in award winning music videos and short films. His first feature length motion picture VAMPARIAH (2016) is based on his short film BAMPINAY (2003) which uses cultural influences and the horror/sci-fi genera as a vehicle to discuss race and identity. He currently teaches a Digital Arts class for at risk high school students in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Vampariah  won best picture in international film fest Hong Kong, New York urban Action film Festival for angels of Action conception, best local feature in sf and the Golden Stake Award for best feature at the international vampire film and arts festival in Transylvania!
