As a testament to their longevity, they are the first American band to ever chart albums in Billboard’s Pop Top 40 in six consecutive decades, the highest charting American band in Billboard’s Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists, and the #4 band on Billboard’s All-Time Top Bands and Duos list. However, the focus for the Timmons Brothers is the era when the band  was known for writing politically charged rock music to fulfill the group’s self-proclaimed description as a rock ‘n’ roll band with horns.  Formed in 1967, the band did not lack confidence as reflected in their first name, The Big Thing. Later they changed their name to the Chicago Transit Authority before settling on the name Chicago after the release of their first album in 1969.  A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 2016, this is the story of “Chicago- The Rock ‘n’ Roll Band With Horns: 1967-1978”.
