COMMUNITY OF MASONS-COMMON VALUES

Before we even consider a plan we have some structural problems to overcome.  This plan will confront the prevailent attitude of the day- the individual truth is the right. It will require each one of us learning the work required to achieve mastery and step forward willingly committing to work as long as required with as much diligence as we can muster. As individuals we accept the utmost responsibility for our conduct. We accept that our potential at the beginning is unknown. We may never know if we hesitate or fail to put forth the extreme effort required.  Templates for the lodge, for masonic education, for governance will be replaced through the elevation and development of each willing mason.  It is asking everything as you did when you became a mason. Without examination, without purpose life is not worth living.  Here is your opportunity to face challenge and display merit from within.  Are you ready to dismiss attention to an accident of birth being hailed as a virtue?  The values of our community are built gradually, skillfully. Are you ready to exhibit what you have learned at each stage before being allowed access to more?  Are you willing to tell the truth, to express your thinking with impartiality?  Then and only then will we begin.  Watch now as we gradually build, exchange poor workmanship with knowledgeable skillful artificers.  As we resurrect old ideas we confront inadequacy with all the complications that come with them.  Ideology has served us but not well.
