Whiloe I will focus on a variety of subject matter--not the least of which is the Iowa Hawkeyes football team1--one item keeps nagging me. What item is it? The RFK Jr. announcement.

RFK Jr., the latest in the high-profile, attention-seeking Kennedy Family, announced recently that he is leaving the Democrat Party and running for President of the United States as an independent candidate. Not even sure if it means he is running as "independent", or for the nomination as candidate for Independent Party, a la Ross Perot and, at one time, Donald J. Trump.

The question isn't so much why, or whether or not its ego, or whether he is electable as an independent candidate. Let's face it, he's not. He will not, as "independent", win the US Presidency. The real question, in my mind, is whether it's an egotistical, and thus "joke", move by RFK Jr....or if, instead, he's being planted by the RNC to filter votes away from Donald Trump. What would be most interesting is if RFK Jr. remains in the race should, against current odds, Donald Trump is NOT the GOP nominee.
