Born and raised in Edinburg, Texas, Kimbley Callis was the first African American to graduate from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas with a music degree with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. She toured the U.S. as one of the lead soloists with the University Chorale, and has performed in churches and stages all across Texas, especially locally. She is an accomplished musician who can sing in six languages, is a songwriter, and plays basic piano. She enjoys her ministry of helping others, mentoring At-Risk youths and loving and assisting the elderly. She truly believes in giving as exemplified when she was blessed to be a kidney donor to her uncle in at a young age. Kimbley is a Vocal Trainer, a Choral Clinician, professional educator, and served four years as Vocal Director for the Theatre Youth Camp at the Carver Cultural Center in San Antonio, Texas. Her unique vocal styling has earned her the opportunities to perform the national anthem at home games for both the NBA Spurs and San Antonio Rampage. In 2007 Kimbley’s fifth-grade class won a NBA song-writing competition that featured the song in a NBA commercial. She is a member at “The Exciting West End Baptist Church,” where Rev. Dr. Michael A. Jolla is the Pastor, and she serves as Choir Director for the Youth & Adult Choirs.
