Jeff Wallin and Craig Nelson welcome guests Matt Hennessy, Andrew Beck and Ben Willey to discuss the Firefighter 3 Project, a mentorship initiative that aims to help the next generation of firefighters learn the firefighter life skills needed to be successful in the fire service.

Matt Hennessy is a firefighter/EMT with the Mandan City Fire Department in North Dakota, where he has worked for 11 years. He previously worked in private EMS with Metro Area Ambulance in Bismarck, North Dakota. Hennessy attended Northland Community College in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, where he completed an associate degree in fire administration.

Andrew Beck started his fire service career in 2002 with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, working in wildland fire operations. He then worked in wildland fire for the U.S. Forest Service from 2003 to 2006, when he transitioned to structural fire with the Mandan City (ND) Fire Department. He is currently the training officer, managing department training programs and live-burn operations.

Ben Willey entered the fire service in 2003 and has served as both a volunteer and career firefighter. He currently serves as a captain of training for the Fargo (ND) Fire Department. Willey is a co-founder of the Firefighter 3 Project, a mentorship initiative that aims to help the next generation of firefighters learn the firefighter life skills needed to be successful in the fire service.
