Shawn was a featured panelist during the recent NFFF Technology Symposium and impressed us with his insightful answers and common sense explanations. We are always trying to help our listeners find ways to improve in the at individuals, in the firehouse and at emergencies. Recognizing the factors that lead to errors, facing up to the gaps in our own reasoning and developing a plan for improvement will be a major part of our focus. Among other things we’ll discuss:

• What do we really mean when talk about having 20/20 hindsight?
• How do biases like Cognitive Fixation or Plan Continuation get us into trouble?
• Is “Situational Awareness” an accurate description to use in understanding human performance?
• How do use this information in the “heat of the battle”?
