Join Capt. Mike Dugan (FDNY) and Capt. Mike Gagliano (Seattle Fire) on Wednesday July 15, at 4:30 PM (Pacific) as they speak with Chaplain Joel Ingebritson, Lt. Kym LeRoy and FF Mike Washington of the Seattle Fire Department. We’ll be exploring the great work they are doing with the Seattle Fire Critical Incident Stress Management/Peer Support Team and how you can make that happen in your department.
Every fire department in the world is now grappling with the reality that stress has a tremendous impact on its members and their families. The results range from poor performance and increased conflict to serious illness and even suicide. Many departments are choosing to take the challenge head on and do their best to provide help to their firefighters, even when the firefighters may not feel it necessary. Our program today is near and dear to our hearts as we’ve both experienced the impact of the job in our personal and professional lives. Our guests are part of the solution and will share their insights with the hope that the knowledge is contagious and finds open hearts and minds. You will be glad you tuned in…
