No Excuses.” Matt McDowell is the Chief of Training for the North Charleston Fire Department, former Captain with the Bluffton Township Fire District, Instructor for the South Carolina Fire Academy, former President of the Lowcountry FOOLS and President of Safe Firefighter, LLC. He holds a degree in Fire Administration and has previously served as Training Officer for Hardeeville Fire Department in South Carolina and Firefighter for the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
