The black poetry community consists of spoken word artists, writers, performers, musicians, singers, photographers, videographers and more. We are an artistic group who use words among other mediums. We are big hearted and create harmonious (or dark!) worlds in which we live as much as we do the waking world. When our poetry world is visited by deceit, integrity lapses, ego outbursts and hurt, it can be hard to shake off. This show is about the reality of depression, insecurity and mental illness in our community and working through it.
