Marvin is recognized in the western music arena as a successful song writer; his original music is being well-received and recorded by other performing artists. He is the 2007 and 2012 Western Music Association’s DJ of the Year, and his first solo album, Letter to Molly, has been nominated for a WMA Western Album of the Year award. The song, Bittercreek, from the Letter to Molly album was nominated for 2008 WMA Song of the Year. In 2009, another O’Dell original song, Jesus and Roy, was awarded Song of the Year.
