God loves and cherishes a cheerful giver, one who does not hold back, but gives freely and in merciful kindness. God loves a giver who gives because he loves; God acts this way. God gives to us all things freely which are needed in life and which promote godly living. God gives liberally without chiding us. God gives to us without using His generosity as a tool of manipulation. God gives us life, food, shelter, clothing, peace, joy, love, protection, wisdom, knowledge, and so much more. He has given Himself in His Son Jesus Christ to die for us. Seeing that we have received so graciously and abundantly, what shall we give to the Lord?

Proverbs 3:7-10 King James Version (KJV)

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
