Jesuc Christ WON the victory by submitting Himself to those who had the rule over Him. He submitted Himself to His Father, God. He submitted Himslef to His earthly parents. He submitted Himself to the governing authorities of His day. He submitted to the Sanhedrin and to the Roman government. In humble submission to those who had been placed over Him, He honored God in obedience. Saints we ought so to walk as He walked.

1 Peter 2:12-14 King James Version (KJV)

12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well
