Commanding by His Word
Faith Produces
Preaching designed to produce faith In the New Testament, faith is thought of as an act by which the individual avails himself of the gifts of God. Preaching intended to produce faith. Expect from God and know that you are entitled to His promises.
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (Rom. 10:14).
“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;” (Jn. 17:20).
“But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women,” (Acts 8:12).
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Rom. 10:14-15).
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…” (Rom. 10:17).
“Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?” (I Cor. 3:5).
