Definition.-- The word daimon or daimonion originally to have had two closely related meanings; a deity, and a spirit, superhuman but not supernatural. (Lev 16:21-22; 17:7; Isa 13:21; 34:13; Deut 32:17; Ps 106:37); demons were able to speak see, walk, and feel.
