Good Evening and Welcome to DocKarate, tonight's Host Kancho Daniel J. Vena along with his Co-Host Renshi Kyle Forrest will be talking about Koga Ryu of Shiga Prefecture Japan. I first came in contact with these means and methods from O'Sensei Ronald Duncan in 1972 when he was developing his way of the winds curriculum. O'Sensei Ronald Duncan is the Father of American Koga. He brought it back with him when he returned home from serving in the United States Marine Corps. Over the past 44 years I have been developing my skills in this curriculum and doing my research on the development, documentation, practice and enhancement of the waza to keep up with modern challenges. Tonight we will delve into the actual curriculum and describe the kata's, the requirements and tools you need to become a Koga practitioner.
