Our special Off The Shelf guest this morning is Gordon Castelnero. Gordon has produced documentaries for Detroit television. He is a Christian who has authored books such as "Staying on the Vine", "TV Land Detroit" and "Earl Scruggs: A Bluegrass Banjo Legend". Gordon graduated from California State University with a degree in radio/television/film. While in Detroit, he worked at WNIC radio, learning to produce shows. He and a friend started Cambiare Entertainment after receiving rejections for a television documentary idea that they had. The documentary "Michigan, It Started Here" aired on December 7, 1996. The show was a hit, earning a 11.5 rating and a Michigan Emmy nomination. Castelnero went on to write and produce two more documentaries, "Michigan and the American Dream" in 1998 and "Titanic: The Final Chapter" in 1999. He has written more than 25 television show proposals and earned more than six Michigan Emmy nominations. Gordon lives in Michigan with his wife and daughter.
